International Calella Folk Festival 2027
Welcome to Calella – The Jewel of Spain’s Costa del Maresme
The International Calella Folk Festival takes place in the charming Mediterranean resort town of Calella, located on the beautiful Costa del Maresme, just 58 km northeast of Barcelona.
Renowned for its Blue Flag beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coastal atmosphere, Calella offers over three kilometres of stunning shoreline, lively promenades, excellent restaurants, and a picturesque historic centre. Its ideal location also provides participants with the opportunity to explore the world-famous city of Barcelona, making the festival experience even more memorable.
Combining Mediterranean beauty, rich Catalan culture, and exceptional hospitality, Calella provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable international folklore festival.
About the Festival
The International Calella Folk Festival is a non-competitive international cultural event that brings together performers from around the world to celebrate music, dance, tradition, and friendship.
The festival welcomes:
- Folklore dance ensembles
- Modern and contemporary dance groups
- Choirs
- Instrumental ensembles
- Vocal performers
- Majorettes
- Other performing arts groups
The festival is open to children, youth, and adult performers, with no age restrictions.
Each participating group must have a minimum of 10 performers on stage.
Every ensemble will have the opportunity to perform in 2–3 Open-Air Concerts and participate in the Festival Parade (Defile).
Groups may perform with live musical accompaniment or professionally recorded music.
Performance durations will be scheduled according to the number of participants.
Accommodation
Participants will stay in comfortable 3★ hotels on the Costa Brava, conveniently located near the beach and festival venues.
Accommodation is provided on a Full Board basis and includes:
- Buffet Breakfast
- Lunch
- Dinner
Rooms are generally configured as triple rooms with private bathrooms.
The organizer provides two complimentary double rooms per group for group leaders and/or drivers.
Additional double rooms beyond the complimentary allocation are available according to the supplement rates below.

Accommodation Supplements
- Double Room Supplement: €8 per person/night
- Single Room Supplement: €30 per night
- Extra Night: €50 per person/night

Complimentary Accommodation
For every 25 paying participants, the 26th participant stays free of charge.
Transfers
Airport transfers and local transportation during the festival can be arranged upon request.
Transfer costs depend on the arrival airport and the size of the group and will be quoted individually.
Bus Parking
Groups travelling by coach may use their own transportation throughout the festival.
Bus parking fees are determined by local parking authorities and are the responsibility of the participating group.
Any costs resulting from accidents, breakdowns, or vehicle-related incidents remain the responsibility of the group’s insurance provider.
Payment Terms
Participation is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit with the application.
Payment schedule:
- 30% deposit upon registration
- 40% payment due 60 days before the festival
- Remaining 30% balance due 10 days before the festival begins
The final participant list must be submitted 30 days before the festival.
After this deadline, all deposits become non-refundable.

Free Participation
Every 26th participant stays free of charge for every 25 paying participants.
Tourist City Tax
The tourist tax is payable by participants 16 years of age and older.
Current municipal rates (2026):
- 5★ and Grand Luxury Hotels: €6.60 per person/night
- 4★ and Superior 4★ Hotels: €2.64 per person/night
- 3★ Hotels, Lower Category Hotels & Youth Hostels: €1.32 per person/night
Tourist tax rates are determined by the local authorities and are subject to change. Updated rates for 2027 will be announced in February 2027.

Festival Program
Arrival in the Hotel and registration (please call us 1h before your arrival, 100km ahead of Calella) the rooms will be ready for check in at about 15:00
Lunchtime (according to the hotel schedule, each group will receive from the hotel reception time table. * If the groups is not arriving on lunch, or its late please let us know in advance, otherwise we will not be able to move lunch to dinner)
Dinner time (according to hotel schedule, each group will receive from hotel reception time table. *If the groups arrive late, let us know in advance so the hotel can prepare cold dinner.)

Refund Policy
As confirmation of its participation in this folklore festival, a group pays a deposit as a guarantee.
This deposit is non-reimbursable if you later decide not to come, for any reason. In case of unexpected circumstances or Force Majeure, the organizer reserves the right to change the event date or postpone it for the next year.
When paying by bank transfer, some tax fees may occur and we are not covering those expenses, they are paid by the group.
