The folklore ensemble Karposh from Kriva Palanka was founded in 1972. Today, it has more than 300 members. Through its activities, this folklore group helps preserve Macedonian cultural heritage, its members nurture traditional folk dances and folk songs, as well as revive old customs and beautiful, authentic traditional costumes from the Kriva Palanka region.

Karposh has a rich repertoire that includes unique interpretations of folk dances and songs, not only from the Kriva Palanka region but also from other regions of the country.

The specific rhythm, lively temperament, as well as beauty and splendor of the native and stylized folklore enriched with the vivid color of folk costumes and virtuoso playing, are features that make these folk dances and folk songs unique.

All of this reflects in an authentic atmosphere of folk rituals while performing on stage. From its establishment until today, the repertoire of the folklore ensemble Karposh has been constantly improving, and additional choreographies have constantly been added. The most famous choreographies in the current repertoire are:
Komitsko, Ilindensko, Povardarie, Kalajdzisko, Istochna, Zetvarka, Solunka, Pijanec, Srbija(Bunjavka), Kumanovsko, Lisolaj, Shopka, Devojche Devojche, Vodarki, Na Megdan (performed by the seniors), Tresenica, Cvekeberacka, Pirin, Selsko, Isteruvanje na Cumata, Kraj Cesma. Our repertoire also includes performances reviving two traditional customs on stage, Svadba and Pogachari. Traditional dances: Zavrazlama, Trnovka, Mori Maro Dilindaro, Palanecka Trojka, Palanecka Chetvorka, Buvchansko.

The majority of the Karposh ensemble members are young people aged 10-25. Through joining and being part of the ensemble, these young people inspire one another to nurture cultural traditions in amazingly creative ways. In turn, mutual cooperation and tolerance only grow their fellowship stronger.

The ensemble has so far successfully performed at many domestic and international folklore festivals across Europe and Asia (England, Belgium, France, Poland, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia). It has also received numerous domestic and international awards.
